6月26日,CBIS国际小学部话剧演出圆满落下帷幕,孩子们的天赋与努力在舞台上完美呈现,令人惊喜连连。

G4 DRAMA - ROOM ON THE BROOM
四年级的节目——《Room on the Broom》描写了一位善良的女巫和她的猫骑着扫帚旅行的故事,途中经历的一场场偶遇,产生的一段段友谊,共同编织成这段友情与冒险的故事。在G4同学的演绎下,神秘的故事以有趣的风格呈现。
花木兰代父从军
G5 DRAMA - MULAN
五年级的节目——《木兰》则改编自耳熟能详的中国传统人物故事《花木兰》,讲述了花木兰为了保家卫国,毅然决然地决定代父从军的传奇故事。在木兰的身上我们看到了中国女性勇敢、善良、坚韧的品质,G5的孩子也将这一形象生动还原。

小学阶段的戏剧创作对塑造孩子心智、促进整体发展具有重要意义。首先,它为学生提供了一个探索创造力和自由表达自己的平台。通过表演,他们可以站在不同角色的立场上,了解他们的情绪、动机和观点。这使他们能够在驾驭人类行为的复杂性时培养同理心、批判性思维和解决问题的技能。

At CBIS, our PYP students have drama classes every week. They participate deeply in performances, create stage situations with teachers and classmates, explore the deep meanings behind each story, and continuously learn and grow, allowing the artistic power of performance to help them discover their infinite potential.
On June 26th, our PYP drama production came to a successful conclusion.
REHEARSAL
G4 DRAMA - ROOM ON THE BROOM
The story "Room on the Broom" from G4 is a story about a kind-hearted witch and her cat traveling on a broomstick. During the trip, they met some animals and made friends with them, which weaved into the story of friendship and adventure. Under the rendition of G4, the mysterious story was presented in an interesting style.
G5 DRAMA - MULAN
The G5 story "Mulan" is adapted from the well-known story about a traditional Chinese character "Hua Mulan", a legendary female. She joined the military for her father in order to protect her family and country. In Mulan, we can see the courage, kindness and tenacity of women in China. The children of G5 also vividly represented this image.

COMMENT
Drama production in primary school holds immense significance in shaping young minds and fostering holistic development. Firstly, it provides a platform for students to explore their creativity and express themselves freely. Through acting, they can step into the shoes of different characters, understanding their emotions, motivations, and perspectives. This allows them to develop empathy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, as they navigate the complexities of human behaviors.
Secondly, drama productions instill confidence and self-assurance in young students. By performing in front of an audience, they learn to overcome stage fright, speak clearly, and project their voices. This boosts their self-esteem and helps them develop effective communication skills, which are essential for success in various aspects of life.
Additionally, working collaboratively in a drama production teaches students the value of teamwork, cooperation, and compromise, as they work towards a common goal of creating a compelling performance.
Lastly, drama productions provide a unique opportunity for primary school students to learn about different cultures, historical events, and societal issues. By exploring diverse themes and narratives, they develop a broader understanding of the world around them. This exposure promotes cultural appreciation, tolerance, and respect for others" perspectives. It also encourages students to think critically and engage in meaningful discussions about important topics, fostering a sense of social awareness and responsibility.
Drama production in primary school goes beyond mere entertainment. It plays a vital role in nurturing creativity, confidence, teamwork, and cultural understanding among young students. It provides them with a platform to explore their talents, develop essential life skills, and grow into well-rounded individuals who are equipped with the ability to face the challenges of the future.
